The Directors, staff and volunteers from Newton Abbot Community Interest Company have prepared and distributed more than 50 treat bags for households in the local community this Christmas. The packs were funded using private donations from the Directors and staff, as well as from a grant from the Claude and Margaret Pike Foundation.
Lynn McElheron Chair of the CIC commented that “Although it has been a tough year for the CIC and the Buckland Centre, we wanted to give something back to our community this Christmas. We’d like to thank everyone for their support during the pandemic. Whilst the Buckland Centre continues to operate on a limited basis, we hope to get back to business as usual as soon as we can”. The treat bags were distributed with the help of colleagues at Buckland Surgery and Haytor View Primary School.
