An amazing team of volunteers have finished planting the first new flowerbed at Penn Inn. Designed to add a splash of colour, the bed has been dug and planted by hand by a team of volunteers who responded to the appeal for help by Newton Abbot Community Interest Company.

Completion of the flowerbed and the re-seeding of the wildflower meadow marks completion of the first phase of the Project at Penn Inn. Lynn McElheron Chair of the CIC commented that “we have been delighted by the support we have received from both individuals and organisations to help us deliver the first phase of the Penn Inn Project. Teams of volunteers have being digging in all weathers to complete the planting and we are delighted by the outcome”.

The CIC has received support from Devon County Council, Teignbridge District Council, Newton Abbot Town Council, Teign Housing and ID Verde landscaping. The CIC would like to thank all those involved in supporting the Project, but particularly Plant World Nurseries who have provided their expertise and donated the plants for the first phase of the Project.

Further work is planned in the autumn of 2018 when the next phase of planting will be carried out.
