The Base Youth Club offers a variety of fun activities for young people age 7-11. It runs on a Friday evening from 6.00pm – 8.00pm at the Buckland Centre and entry is just £1. The Club has a new team in place to run the weekly sessions, under the leadership of Emma Dawe, Senior Youth Worker.

Emma is keen to encourage more young people to come along to the Club, which relies on fund-raising and grants to keep it open. Emma commented that “we have recently spent a lot of time and money revamping the equipment and the range of activities at The Base, so if you haven’t been along for a while then please come back and visit us”. Weekly activities include sports, cooking, arts and crafts and music. The Club recently received a grant from the Teign Housing Community Chest Fund towards the cost of new equipment which will make a big difference in the variety of activities the Club is able to provide.

The Club is managed by Newton Abbot Community Interest Company for the benefit of the local community. It is based at The Buckland Centre, Gilbert Road, Newton Abbot, TQ12 4HS and is open from 6.00pm on a Friday evening in term time.
